my thoughts on motherhood, kids, books and stuff

A Whole New World…

My baby girl now has glasses. I think she looks darling and I am thrilled she can see better.

But it is all too grown up.

I am going to go browse baby pictures now and have a little cry.

She does look adorable–and more grown up. It’s so hard to have those moments when we can see just how grown-up our kids are getting and there is nothing we can do to stop it! Those times are so bittersweet, aren’t they.

  • Jana

She reminds me of her mother… So cute in glasses. 🙂

  • Definitely OK to cry here. Other crying exemptions will be granted when she receives her Young Woman’s medallion, graduation, marriage, etc.

Awww, thanks Jana. Try as I might, I could not find her a pair of thick tan/clear plastic glasses that look like they are on upside down like I had when I was a kid. I am shocked that they are not still in style! (okay, so they never were)

Mike, I am in trouble if those are the only times I can cry! I cry at primary presentations, preschool and kindergarten graduations, recitals, alone in the bathroom after a particularly challenging day…. 🙂

  • And I cry when whim cries. Luca looks darling … and smart … but of course she already did.

Kim Luca looks so cute and grown up. You looked cute too at that age when you got your glasses……they weren’t ugly as you described …. course maybe it was your cute face that made them so acceptable. 🙂
