Lilacs make me think of my mom. They are her favorite flower. I couldn’t give her a paper cup with a bunch of lilacs from the yard like I use to do when I was a child…so this will have to do.
I wish we could have spent Mother’s Day together sipping Diet Coke, eating dark chocolate, putting a puzzle together, and reminiscing. Thank goodness for email, thank goodness for Messenger, and thank goodness for cell phones.
The year we lived around the corner from each other was a gift that I will always be grateful for. I wish it could have been longer, but I am so glad we had the time we did.
